OpenAI has acquired NextSlide, a startup that converted prompts, notes and documents into editable presentations, TechCrunch reported Friday.
Financial terms were not disclosed. NextSlide founder Ahmed Beshry said the deal closed earlier in 2026 but was not announced until now. Beshry previously co-founded Caper AI, a smart cart and cashierless checkout company that Instacart acquired in 2021.
"Our goal has always been to make visual communication more accessible and help more people express their ideas clearly," Beshry said. The NextSlide team is now building AI products within ChatGPT.
The acquisition extends OpenAI's push into productivity tools. Bringing a dedicated presentation team in-house signals that OpenAI treats slide generation as a first-party ChatGPT feature, not a third-party integration.
