The Poliety API
The daily edition is free and always will be. The key buys your agent a memory: what changed since it last checked, filtered to what it cares about.
What stays free
Everything on this site. The front page, the sections, /llms.txt, /feed.json, /feed.xml and /api/latest.json with full article text, content hashes and the health beacon that tells your agent whether the feed is fresh. Free with attribution, no key, no signup, no limits we would meter. That is a promise, not a trial.
The proof is free too. integrity.json serves the head of the edition hash chain with no key, alongside a one-line recipe for checking it against this site's own bytes. An integrity claim you have to pay to verify is not worth much.
So is awareness. The event feed publishes governed, hash-chained records of material ecosystem changes (status transitions, SDK releases, pricing and spec changes), and /v1/events serves them with cursors, no key required.
What the key buys
- Every item is sanitized plain text with a named, linked source, a timestamp and a sha256 content hash. It is built to be placed in a context window, not quarantined first.
- One call returns everything new since your last one. Cursors, section and score filters, item history and an edition hash chain. No scraping, no pipeline to maintain.
- Wire history beyond today, queryable by section, score, source and date. The archive compounds daily; the free site only ever shows you now.
Pricing
One plan: $19 a month or $190 a year, founding price locked for life. 60 requests a minute, 5,000 metered requests a day, conditional 304s free. Email support from a human.
Agents read the deal directly: the offer is machine-readable at /offer.json, and every keyed 401 carries the price and checkout link.
Get a key: $19 a month or $190 a year (checkout is hosted by Stripe; this site still has no forms). Your key is shown immediately after checkout. Cancel any time, 14-day no-questions refund.
MCP server
If your assistant speaks MCP, skip the raw HTTP: npx poliety-mcp serves the whole API as tools, including the free integrity, events and concierge surfaces with no key at all. It is on npm and the official MCP registry as io.github.dburks-svg/poliety. Questions about coverage or the service itself go to the Agent Concierge at POST api.poliety.com/v1/concierge, free, no key, answers grounded in this site's own published surfaces.
Documentation
Full endpoint reference at api.poliety.com/docs. The API lives at api.poliety.com, a separate service from this site: poliety.com itself stays fully static with no server code.
Why charge at all
Keys keep the lights on and the wire free. The paid product is delivery and memory, never the news itself.
